The current state of «Ionosat-Micro» project preparation was discussed at the Scientific and Technical Council of the State Space Agency of Ukraine on March 10, 2016. The project implementation identified as a priority of the National Space Program of Ukraine. The schedule of the spacecraft integration with a launch in the year 2018 was approved. It was approved the decision on utilization of Polish and Bulgarian instruments as onboard scientific facilities and on preparation of relevant agreements. A number of workshops to coordinate the work plans were scheduled.

Meeting of Ukrainian-Polish working group on space activities was held on February 8, 2016 in the State Space Agency of Ukraine. Upcoming events on bilateral cooperation, in particular the extending of numbers of joint projects and participation of Ukrainian experts in space forum in Zheshuv (June, 2016) were discussed. The Polish delegation was headed by Chairman of Polish Space Agency (POLSCA) Prof. Marek Banaszkiewicz and the Ukrainian – by SSAU Deputy Chairman Alexander Golub.

Director of the Space Research Institute Oleh Fedorov presented a report on the priorities of bilateral cooperation in space research.

The meeting of delegations of Ukraine headed by SSAU Chairman Lubomyr Sabadosh and NASA headed by Associate Administrator for the Human Exploration and Operations Directorate – William H. Gerstenmaier was held in Kyiv on November 19, 2015.

During the meeting the Parties discussed prospects of joint space projects in order to expand space cooperation between Ukraine and the USA.

The meeting was attended by: Deputy of the Parliament of Ukraine, Member of the SSAU Board – Andriy Teteruk, Director of Department for Real Economy Development of the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine – Mykola Shcherbyna, the first Astronaut of Ukraine – Leonid Kadenyuk, Director of the Main Astronomy Observatory of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine and Academician of the NASU – Yaroslav Yatskiv, Director of the Space Research Institute NASU-SSAU – Oleg Fedorov, representatives of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, representative of the National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine and the space industry experts. 

The proposals formulated in O. Fedorov report on possible areas of cooperation were given to colleagues from NASA.

International workshop on satellite agromonitoring «Joint Workshop on Information Needs in Crop Monitoring» was held on October 22-23, 2015 in Kyiv, Ukraine. The Joint Research Centre of the European Commission (JRC EC) and the United Nations Office for Outer Space Affairs UNOOSA were symposium organizers and sponsors. Symposium was supported by European Copernicus program and GEOGLAM initiative of GEO group. The Space Research Institute NAS Ukraine and SSA Ukraine was define as a local workshop coordinator.

Representatives of Ukrainian government, international and national experts in satellite agromonitoring met at the workshop. Informational needs, available technical solutions and possible funding sources were discussed during workshop.
