From 10 to 14 of October 2016 in Kiev on the premices of NAS of Ukraine and NTU "KPI named Igor Sikorsky" Fifth International Conference "Aerospace Observations for Sustainable Development and Security» (GEO-UA 2016) in the context of the Global Agricultural Satellite Monitoring Initiative GEOGLAM was held. The conference from Ukrainian side was organized by Space Research Institute of NASU-SSAU and NTU "KPI named Igor Sikorsky". Within the conference the symposium on European Space Agency project «Sentinel-2 for Agriculture», the annual meeting on the JECAM project of GEOGLAM program and an international meeting on the "SIGMA" project (Seventh Framework Programme supported by the European Commission) were held. |

Fifth International Conference "Earth observations for sustainable development and security"
ILA Berlin Air Show 2016
The events, dedicated to the ILA Berlin Air Show, were held in Berlin during June 1-4, 2016. Representatives of SRI participated in a workshop on space materials science (discussion of the project FP-7 Light-Materials TPS).
Representatives of SSA and SRI held discussions on cooperation in perspective projects at the Technical University of Berlin on June 2.
Plans for Space Research in 2016
The session of the Council on Space Research of NAS of Ukraine and the Scientific Council of NAS of Ukraine program on space research was held on February 23, 2016. The program for year 2016 with funding of UAH 3.7 million was approved (attached). SRI will perform 5 project included to Program. The joint session of the Scientific and Technical Council of the State Space Agency of Ukraine and Council on Space Research of NAS of Ukraine, which was held on the same day, agreed the financing plan of projects for year 2016 in accordance with the current National Space Program for years 2013-2017. There are four projects, which is planned to perform by SRI and 1 project by LC ISR.
The session of the Scientific and Technical Council of the State Space Agency of Ukraine
The current state of «Ionosat-Micro» project preparation was discussed at the Scientific and Technical Council of the State Space Agency of Ukraine on March 10, 2016. The project implementation identified as a priority of the National Space Program of Ukraine. The schedule of the spacecraft integration with a launch in the year 2018 was approved. It was approved the decision on utilization of Polish and Bulgarian instruments as onboard scientific facilities and on preparation of relevant agreements. A number of workshops to coordinate the work plans were scheduled.
The Meeting of Ukrainian-Polish working group on space activities
Meeting of Ukrainian-Polish working group on space activities was held on February 8, 2016 in the State Space Agency of Ukraine. Upcoming events on bilateral cooperation, in particular the extending of numbers of joint projects and participation of Ukrainian experts in space forum in Zheshuv (June, 2016) were discussed. The Polish delegation was headed by Chairman of Polish Space Agency (POLSCA) Prof. Marek Banaszkiewicz and the Ukrainian – by SSAU Deputy Chairman Alexander Golub.
Director of the Space Research Institute Oleh Fedorov presented a report on the priorities of bilateral cooperation in space research.
